untitled, oil on panel, 14x11"
In this painting, I combine direct painting and glazing. Here, as I often do, I have washed the subject in with diluted pigment, in this case a cool cobalt blue.
With the tablecloth complete I turn my attention to the objects. The apple contains cadmium red, alizarin crimson, cobalt blue, and titanium white.
The alla prima portion of this painting is complete, ready for a few applications of glaze. The pear and the rear of the tablecloth will be the focus of the glazes.
