Ka-Boom!

Mixed media installation with bomb and telephone pole.

This piece talks about the roots of nuclear energy and the two disparate directions that it took.  After J. Robert Oppenheimer and his team at Los Alamos turned nuclear fission into a weapon of mass distruction, it evolved into the global nuclear missile proliferation and nuclear power plants.  The words "fat man" are written in chalk on one side of the bomb and on the other side are the words "little boy".  The bomb form supplies energy to the home and powers the television and lamp.

The telephone pole is real but I won't say where I got it ;-)

The Transformer was fabricated from a floor-standing ash tray
